The Economic Vitality Team of Jefferson Matters will open the 2026 After Hours: Insider series Tuesday, Feb. 17, from 5:30 to 7 p at the historic Sierra Community Theatre.
This exclusive event invites community members to step behind the velvet curtains of the newly-remodeled theatre. Attendees will gain rare access to the projector area and the updated auditorium while learning the “inner workings” of local cinema- from how movies are selected and operated to the unique rules, regulations, and “weird facts” that define the industry.
“The Sierra Community Theatre is a cornerstone of our downtown renovation,” said Britt Meythaler of the Jefferson Matters Economic Vitality Team. “This tour highlights the history and the modern ingenuity required to keep this landmark thriving in our community.”
Guest check-in will be at 5:30 pm at the theatre, followed by guided “behind-the-scenes” tours led by theatre staff and board members. Networking time featuring a specialty gourmet popcorn bar and drinks will be from 6:40 to 7 pm.
Due to the “backstage” nature of the tour, space is strictly limited to 35 guests. Reservations are required to secure a spot. The cost of the event is $10 per person, which includes the guided tour and the gourmet popcorn reception.
